Mother's Day Gifts... and Why You Should Get Her a Shark!
by Heather Misura on 04/29/12
I of course, am always looking for an outlet for my cleaning gadget ideas, since I spend so much time looking around for things that would be useful for Atreides Services, but not all of the things I find can be very practical for us My latest fascination is with handheld vacuums, and I am recommending one for a Mother's Day gift.
I am a dedicated Shark vacuum fan, because they are so light and powerful, and that really works for us! I really am. If Sharks had mud tires, I would be walking around our vacuum and kicking them. But if you are going to have a handheld vacuum cleaner, it should be one that does the things your regular vacuum cannot do. We want handheld vacuums to clean pet hair off of the stairs and to pick up Froot Loops from the kitchen counter! Kitty litter from the outside of the box, and I want one that can also dust lampshades without damaging them.
MY DOUBTS:
1. My main doubt when it comes to handheld vacuums is that a lot of them are cordless. If I'm buying a handheld vacuum, I want it to do what a large vacuum cannot do. If a regular-sized vacuum has a hard time picking up dog hair from the stairs and upholstery, then the miniature version surely won't help, especially not if it is on battery power... which says, to my mind, "limited" power.
2. Second main doubt- can it really do what a regular-sized vacuum cannot do? In my experience, Shark is the only vacuum that can clean years of hair from stairs and kitty condos alike. I have been honestly amazed at what a Shark can do. Most vacuums fall short with the pet hair aspect of cleaning carpet, despite advertisements on their progress in the task. Shark has fewer claims on pet hair-perfection and does an amazing job with the regular-sized vacuum and a dusting brush. Why wouldn't a little Shark do the same? It has a motorized brush-roll and a 3:1 hose attachment, just like a larger vacuum. I'm willing to bet on the miniature Shark with a cord!
3. Third main doubt- bags?? No.
Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions for a hand vac.
Yes, we do moveout cleaning!
by Heather Misura on 03/13/12
I apologize for any confusion as a result of your purchasing a Groupon or Living Social voucher. As the voucher states, the service is '2 hours of regular housecleaning', so we can only do so much towards a moveout cleaning service, which as many of you already know (hence the questions) is a bit more involved! Specifically, without notice, as moveout cleaning actually requires a different set of gear.
We offer Groupon and Living Social voucher holders an extension on appt. rate of $45.00 per hour. We can do windows in addition to the regular 2 hours of cleaning, but at a piece rate; the voucher's value can't be transferred to the window prices. We will need notice if we are going to be doing windows higher than first floor.
If there is anything you need done in addition to regular cleaning, just ask. We can do full moveout cleanings, but we are offering our burden-room special again, for those of you who just can't afford to do a full moveout cleaning. The full kitchen moveout cleaning includes:
The kitchen moveout cleaning starts at $45. If you would like to add one bathroom it goes to $60, etc. You can add ceiling fans, slatted closet doors, baseboards, walls, light fixtures, or anything else you need. Feel free to read the details at our UFMaids site.
- Cabinets inside/outside
- Refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, vent & stove, sink/drains
- Floors (deep cleaning)
We also accept credit cards now as well as personal checks.
Thanks for checking us out, and we hope to be of service to you soon!
